Courses after class 12th and its duration
Candidates can take up Information Technology after class 12th with PCM. The duration of the course is 4 years.
Who can take up the course
Candidates who have excellent communication skill, Administrative skills, Organizational skills are eligible to take up the course. As IT has opened up various concepts like online shopping, digital marketing, social networking, digital communication, cloud computing; candidates need to be tech-savvy in nature. The sector of IT needs the knowledge and skills in converting, storing, protecting, processing, transmitting and retrieving information from computers and associated electronic devices.
Eligibility
Candidates need to pass in 10+2, A Level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or any technical vocational subjects as optional with a minimum of 45% marks taken together in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects (40% for other categories). Some colleges/Universities may demand 50% in aggregate.
Admission Procedure
Candidates need to clear COMED-K or KCET for an entrance exam.n COMED-K, the counseling for 2019 Engineering and Architecture would be through a centralized process at Bangalore. For further details of counseling; aspirants can check https://www.comedk.org.The cutoff marks in COMED-K 2017 was 50% for general candidates and 40% for ST, SC, and others.
Counselling:
Candidates meeting all the eligibility criteria for admission through COMED-K 2019 will go through 2 rounds of counselling. Candidates up to the rank of 43,000 will be called up for the first round of counselling while those ranking above 43,000 will be called up for the second round. The counselling procedure will follow a centralized single window system. The first round will begin tentatively from June 28, while the second round may commence from July.
