The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in year 1984. The Department offers B.E (CSE) undergraduate program, two postgraduate programs M.Tech(CSE) and M.Tech(CNE). Department also offers M.Sc by research and Ph.D. degree in various specializations of Computer Science and Engineering.

Department of Computer Science and Engineering has MoUs for Research, Consultancy and training with multinational companies and government agencies such as CISCO, Citrix, Nihon, Gnostice, Sapient ,Infosys Technologies  and Karnataka Forest department. Department has industry sponsored labs from CISCO, IBM and Nvidia GPU research centre. Students are encouraged to take up interdisciplinary research in various domains of computer science like computer vision, Data Mining, Networking, high performance computing etc. and are placed in reputed companies.

  The Department has an excellent placement track record where in various companies offer salary packages with an average salary of INR 9.22 Lakhs per annum. Major recruiters are Yahoo, Microsoft, PayPal, Intel, Flipkart, Amazon, Cisco, Oracle, Google etc. Internship opportunities are provided for final year and pre-final year students to carry out projects.

Infrastructure

Department of CSE has enough class and tutorial rooms with most of them equipped with projectors. Department also has a Seminar Hall. There are well equipped laboratories having advanced research infrastructure with interdisciplinary & industry based labs to emphasis on holistic learning of students.

Department Library

CSE department library aims to support the students and faculty by providing most relevant and required books. The library is well stocked with more than 1119 titles and 1720 volumes of books exclusive to CSE department UG and PG courses. In addition the library is stocked with UG and PG student project reports, selected research papers in CDs in specialized areas of Datamining, Internet of Things, Image Processing, Computer Networking and High Performance Computing. The library has floor area 42 Sq.mts with 

seating capacity of 15 persons.

The CSE department has thirteen well-equipped network computer labs with 316 computer systems, 3 High end Servers, 60 thin clients, 2 workstations and 25 peripherals.

Internet Lab has been setup in the department, apart from the common browsing center facility available in the College, in order to enable the students to do quality projects.

A Research & Consultancy lab has also been established with high-end computer systems and peripherals with internet facility for executing research projects funded by various agencies like, Naval Research Board, Armament Research Board, DRDO New Delhi, AICTE

Department of Computer Science & Engineering has an excellent placement track record in reputed multinational companies offering salary packages of up to 22 Lakhs (maximum offered salary). Some of the employers who offered jobs include companies like Yahoo, Microsoft, PayPal,Flipkart, Intel, IBM, Amazon, Cisco, Oracle, Google, Infosys, E-bay, Citrix, NetApp, Morgan Stanley, Delloitte, Goldman Sachs, Samsung, Juniper Networks etc.. Internship opportunities are provided for final year and pre-final year students to carry out their projects. More than 40% of the students would go for internships during 6th semester summer vacation which helps them in their placement activities. More than 70% of the students will do internship projects in their final semester.
