MTech in Artificial Intelligence : IISc Introduce New Course

Premier Institute of India, the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore have introduced a new master’s degree course in artificial intelligence. IISc has decided to focus on the foundations and deep technology of AI through rigorous training to produce scholars who can become leaders in the field of AI. Division of EECS, IISc will deliver this course through the collaborative efforts of the Departments of CSA, ECE, EE, and ESE.

Many eminent institutes like IIT Hyderabad and others have launched a few courses which focus on emerging technology like IoT, AI, Machine Learning.

IISc Bangalore will admit 40 students for this PG course, Below is the curriculum details under MTech AI course to be delivered by IISc Bangalore.

• Data structures and Algorithms

• Computational Linear Algebra

• Pattern recognition and Neural networks

• Game theory

• Deep Learning

• Practical Data Science

• Machine Learning With Large Data sets

• Natural Language Understanding

The faculty adviser will discuss the course structure and also introduce the new students about IISc way of doing things in the first semester.

January 1 is the commencement date for the second semester. Final exams of the second-semester end during April last week.

Student starts their research activities during May, June, and July. These activities also involve an internship. Priority is given to internships if the work is aligned with the project topic chosen by the scholar. Candidate can also prefer to work in IISc under the guidance of their project advisor which is assigned in the second semester.

The third semester commences on August 1st. 43 credits of coursework should be completed by the student with the consultation with a project advisor.

Students opting for MTech in IISc will focus on project work, writing a research paper, filing a patent or releasing a software product during their fourth semester.

A student can also opt for a Ph.D. program at IISc Bangalore If the dissertation during M.Tech course is research-oriented.

How To Enroll For MTech In IISc Bangalore:

Eligibility:

Candidates must have a valid GATE score in CS, EC, or EE papers. 

Selection Process:

Admission in MTech course in IISc is through written test and interview. 

Applicants will be shortlisted for interview call based on their GATE scores.

The written test syllabus includes basics of programming, basic engineering mathematics along with the topics from GATE subject area.

Important Dates:

Written test for MTech admission is scheduled to be held on April 15, 2019.
