Courses after 12th and Duration
For taking up the course ,

Eligibility
Candidates need to pass in 10+2, A Level, IB, American
12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory
subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or any technical
vocational subjects as optional with a minimum of 45% marks taken together in
Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects (40% for other
categories). Some colleges/Universities may demand 50% in aggregate.
Candidates need to pass the entrance exam held by
different Universities. Apart from this, admission to IInd year/ III semester
Bachelor Degree in Engineering/ Technology (Lateral Entry) shall be open to the
candidates holding a Diploma or equivalent.
Management quota / direct admission is open to all
students who are eligible with a minimum of 50% in Physics, Mathematics along
with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Computer Science / Electronics / Biology as
optional with English as one of the languages of study and obtained a minimum
50% marks in the optional subjects (as per VTU eligibility criteria for the
year 2019-20).
Admission for B. Tech in Telecommunication Engineering
Admission to 1st year/ 1st
semester Bachelor degree of Engineering will be open for candidates who have
passed the second year pre-university or XIIth standard or equivalent
examination recognized by a University. A candidate must have secured not less
than forty-five percent (45%) marks in the aggregate with Physics and
Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with any one of the following
subjects, namely, Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Computer Science, Biology and
Electronics. Provided that, the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility
shall be forty percent.
1. The syllabus for
COMED-K comprises of topics from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from class
XII. To get acquainted with the CBT format, the conducting body will also
release official COMEDK Mock Tests, available shortly at comedk.org. The exam
consists of 180 questions with 60 questions from each subject. Candidates will
have 3 hours to complete the exam. There will be a separate paper for
Mathematics and there is no negative marking. In COMED-K, the counselling for
2019 Engineering and Architecture would be through a centralized process at

2. K-CET will comprise of
3 papers, viz. Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, with 60 questions from
each.
3. You can always apply
through the Management quota instead of the COMED-K quota if your score in
COMED-K or K-CET is on the lower side. However, applying through the management
quota involves higher fees.
4. The cut-off marks in
COMED-K 2017 was 50% for general candidates and 40% for ST, SC, and others.

Candidates meeting all the eligibility criteria for
admission through COMED-K 2019 will go through 2 rounds of counselling.
Candidates up to the rank of 43,000 will be called up for the first round of
counselling while those ranking above 43,000 will be called up for the second
round. The counselling procedure will follow a centralised single window
system. The first round will begin tentatively from June 28, while the second
round may commence from July.
