M.Tech in Thermal Power Engineering
The stream of specialization in 'Thermal Engineering' offers courses related to theory and applications of thermal engineering. Core and Elective courses are offered by the Thermal Engineering faculty from the six laboratories comprising of (a) Thermodynamics and Combustion Engineering laboratory (b) Heat Transfer and Thermal Power laboratory (c) Hydroturbomachines laboratory (d) Internal Combustion Engines and Gas Turbines laboratory (e) Refrigeration and Air conditioning laboratory (f) Thermal Turbo machines laboratory.
They also have opportunity to do 4 elective courses from the department (out of a total of 66 possible electives) and 1 free elective which is left to the student's choice. The students will do a two semester project in the second year of their M.Tech.
Core courses are designed to provide the students the required base for undertaking specialized electives and the project. The student will pursue a project of his/her choice in any area in which the thermal engineering faculty are engaged.
